The Sonoma Diet

The Sonoma Diet was created by Dr. Connie Gutterson. Dr. Connie Guttersen, author of the New York Times best-selling book The Sonoma Diet, is a leading expert on the health benefits of diets inspired by Mediterranean, Latin American, and Asian cuisines. As a registered dietitian and nutrition instructor at the world-famous Culinary Institute of America, Dr. Guttersen has spent her career focusing on the development of flavorful and nutritious approaches to healthy eating and weight reduction.

The Sonoma Diet is inspired by the Mediterranean way of eating and enjoying food

Like a few of the other popular diets, The Sonoma Diet is divided into three "Waves." Wave 1 will last approximately the first ten days of the diet. During this period you will overcome your habit of consuming large amounts of sugars, refined flour products, and other foods that are quickly absorbed. You will lose the fastest weight loss during this Phase.

Wave 2 is a slower process of losing weight, but you will steadily lose weight until you reach your weight loss goal. This is the main part of this diet.

When you have met your weight loss goal, then Wave 3 comes into play and is called the maintenance program of the diet.
